Panda Internet Security suite is easy to install and set up. Its antivirus and spyware protection capabilities are strong, but this suite still has some design issues that need improvement.
The antivirus and antispyware tools allow you to specify what to scan, and when - though all configurations have default settings. The mail scanner still works only with Windows Outlook and Outlook Express; it does not work with other e-mail clients like Yahoo!, Hotmail, AOL and Mozilla Thunderbird. The spyware can detect all kinds of spywares, such as Trojans, keyloggers and browser exploits, providing overall adequate security against spywares. There is an option for sending all warnings to an e-mail address, so even if you are away from home, you can keep track of security of your home computer.
The firewall is powerful, and the default settings are sufficient in most cases, which is just as well, because options are difficult to configure.
The parental control feature allows you to set up web filters like Kid, Employee, Teen or Default. You can provide different settings for each filter and block specific content from different categories of web user accounts. These web accounts do not synchronize with Windows user account.
Panda Internet Security suite's main screen is easy to navigate, but configuration for any feature is difficult and cumbersome. Overall, an average suite that provides all the internet security features, but not enough to provide a completely secure environment. The TruPrevent technology provides a strong anti-virus tool, but other areas of internet security are still mundane.
